Mumbai to Dapoli: Leaving the City Behind

The Journey Begins

We started our trip from Mumbai at 2:00 PM. It was a normal afternoon — busy roads, constant honking, city noise, and tired minds. We weren’t chasing time or ticking boxes. This trip was planned as a short break, a pause to slow down.

On the Road

The distance from Mumbai to Dapoli is around 215–220 km. We had carried homemade food, so there was no rush to stop at restaurants. A few tea breaks here and there, some stretching, and we were back on the road.

From Chaos to Calm

As the kilometres passed, the city slowly faded away. Traffic reduced. Trees increased. The noise dropped. The air felt cooler, lighter — almost welcoming. By the time we reached Dapoli around 9:00 PM, the mind felt calmer than when we had started.

Stay at Green Breeze

We stayed at a place called Green Breeze. It has a very nice ambience, surrounded by trees on all sides. The cottages are beautiful, clean, and well maintained, blending perfectly with nature. From the moment we arrived, the place felt calm and welcoming.

One important thing to know — mobile network was almost not available. Calls were difficult and internet on the phone was very weak. However, the Wi-Fi connectivity was good, which helped when needed. At first, being away from the mobile network felt strange, but slowly it became relaxing. Fewer notifications, fewer interruptions, more time to just be present.

The night was peaceful, filled with the cool air and the soft sounds of insects. Early in the morning, we woke up to the sound of birds chirping from all around. Sitting outside the cottage, with trees everywhere and fresh air, felt refreshing and slow — exactly what we needed.

Morning Walk and Fresh Air

The next morning, we woke up early. The weather was cool and fresh, and the sound of birds chirping filled the air. We went for a slow morning walk inside and around the property.

No noise.
No phones.
Just trees, wind, and birds.

It felt peaceful in a way cities never feel.

Palande Beach

After breakfast, we headed to Palande Beach. The beach was wide, clean, and open. The sea was calm, and the waves were gentle.

We tried some water sports, spent time near the water, and simply enjoyed being there. Later, we had local Konkani food — simple, fresh, and tasty. It felt perfect for the place and the mood.

Dolphin Boat Ride

Later in the day, we planned a boat ride to see dolphins. The boat moved slowly through the sea. We waited quietly, watching the water, with no rush.

After some time, we saw dolphins coming up from the water for a few moments. They appeared and disappeared quickly. It felt special because nothing was staged or forced — just nature, on its own terms.

Harne Beach and Suvarnadurg Fort

From there, we went to Harne Beach. Compared to other beaches, this one felt calmer and more local. Fewer people, quieter surroundings, and a slower pace made it feel relaxed.

From Harne, we took a boat ride to Suvarnadurg Fort. Standing right in the middle of the sea, the fort looks strong, silent, and timeless. Seeing it from the water gives you a different kind of respect for its presence.

During the boat ride, we noticed many birds resting on rocks and flying close to the water. The sea was quiet, the boat moved slowly, and everything felt unhurried. If you observe quietly, you start noticing small details that are otherwise missed.

Second Day – Keshavraj Temple

On the second day, we visited Keshavraj Temple.

The walk to the temple is very peaceful. Trees, shade, birds, and cool air surround the path. The area feels calm and spiritual, even if you don’t go inside the temple.

It is a good place to walk slowly and just be quiet.

Returning Home

After spending some time there, we started our return journey. The two days we felt relaxed, without any hurry.

Dapoli is not about big attractions.
It is about quiet beaches, clean air, birds, and limited network.

A simple two-day trip, but very refreshing.

Species Seen During the Trip

During the journey, we observed a variety of birdlife and coastal species

Western Reef Heron
Little Egret
Black-hooded Oriole
Cattle Egret

Sometimes, all you need is a simple stay and a clean beach. Dapoli gives you exactly that.
