If you are planning a safari, it is always better to stay two nights near the forest. Tadoba has many entry zones like Moharli, Kolara, Navegaon, Pangdi, Zari, Khutwanda, and a few more. Every zone is different. Some are good for lake views, some for bird watching, and some give more chances of seeing big cats.
Take both morning and evening safaris if possible.
- Morning safari → cool air, animals walking near the water, soft forest mood
- Evening safari → golden light, more birds flying around, forest colors looking beautiful
Tadoba is not a place to rush. The forest takes time to show itself. If you go with patience, you enjoy more.

Things You Should Carry
Safari rules are strict, so it’s better to be ready before you enter the gate.
- Your own DSLR camera (some zones rent cameras but it’s better to carry your own)
- Water bottle
- Cap and sunglasses
- Warm clothes if you visit in winter mornings
- Some light snacks (never throw anything in the forest)
- Wear light, dull-colored clothes so you blend with nature
- Keep silence and respect forest discipline
- Mobile phones are not allowed , so don’t depend on them for photos

Enjoy the Forest
Everyone dreams of seeing a tiger, and that’s natural. But don’t forget to enjoy the small things. Look at the deer, the birds near the lake, the egrets, the trees, the little flowers on the ground. Half the safari fun is watching how animals behave.
When a deer keeps staring in one direction, it usually means it has heard something. When monkeys scream loudly, it’s often an alarm call. These small clues tell you that the jungle is talking.
So relax, sit back, enjoy the ride, and let Tadoba show its magic in its own slow and beautiful way.
